This weekend, I was able to meet with a couple friends in New Jersey and draw. Yay!
So, it was a fun time. We have not done drawing together for quite some time-busy schedule, etc.
I was happy to buy new tools! I read on sketchcrawl.com about Sakura Koi watercolor set. So, I bought it at art store. It is fantastic! I also bought maruman mini size sketch pad, Fabiana hot press watercolor paper and Copic markers and pen.
See?
1. Maruman Croquis mini size sketch pad
2. Fabriano hot press watercolor paper. very good!
3. Straedlater 2B pencil. Always, since art school I buy this pencil.
4. Prismacolor color pencil
5. Maruman “Mnemosyne: Goddess of Memory” inspiration sketchbook. To carry with you. It is not new, I bought it maybe 2 months ago.
More!
1. Sakura Koi watercolors
2. Copic marker. Very good! This is what manga artists use, but, I never tried it before. It is good technique to use copic marker with watercolor for illustrations.
3. this is the watercolor brush which came with Sakura Koi set. Wonderful! Because it holds the water in it.
Sakura Koi Watercolors, Pocket Field Sketch Box
There is my first try with new watercolor set…first I sketch, then I paint over. I will try draw with ink next time.
Alright! I can post my result with watercolor/copic marker in later days.
Thank You!!
